“I have of taken many wonderful day trips with Excursions from the Square and, over this last year, I did two extended trips. Last fall, we traveled to VIRGINA, where we visited the Capitol Building in Richmond and the homes of three of our presidents, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe. These were all outstanding stops. My fellow travelers were interesting, enthusiastic and fun. Early this summer, we made our way through the lovely Pennsylvania countryside on the way to Pittsburgh, a beautiful jewel of a City. There was so much to do and, of course, not enough time. We enjoyed great meals and a wonderful history lesson on the Carnegies, Mellons and Fricks. Enroute we stopped in Harrisburg to tour the Capitol and in Johnstown to visit the Flood Museum. On the way home we visited Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater (a definite highlight) and Kentuck Knob.
