“Although I have traveled to Paris and London many times, I saw it with a fresh perspective on my recent trip with EXCURSIONS FROM THE SQUARE. The intimacy of a small, like-minded group, enlightenment of very special guides and flexibility of the schedule definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the City of Light and the excitement of history, museums and theatre in London.” — Ginny Kurz

“I have taken occasional day trips with Excursions from the Square for many years, but never an overnighter. Texas wasn’t a priority on my bucket list, but for a long time I’d been reading and hearing about the great contemporary architecture, art and sculpture collections that live there. Ellen’s March itinerary to Texas intrigued me, and I wasn’t disappointed. Her connection to Texan architectural historians who joined us was priceless. We saw and learned so much that I probably never could have done independently. We had just the right amount of touring along with free time on our own. And the post-trip “extension” to Marfa with Ellen and another savvy adventurer was the icing on the cake! It’s somewhere I always wanted to go, it takes a lot of planning which Ellen did so well for us, and I never would have done Marfa independently on my own.” — Julie Curson

“I have of taken many wonderful day trips with Excursions from the Square and, over this last year, I did two extended trips. Last fall, we traveled to VIRGINA, where we visited the Capitol Building in Richmond and the homes of three of our presidents, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe. These were all outstanding stops. My fellow travelers were interesting, enthusiastic and fun. Early this summer, we made our way through the lovely Pennsylvania countryside on the way to Pittsburgh, a beautiful jewel of a City. There was so much to do and, of course, not enough time. We enjoyed great meals and a wonderful history lesson on the Carnegies, Mellons and Fricks. Enroute we stopped in Harrisburg to tour the Capitol and in Johnstown to visit the Flood Museum. On the way home we visited Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater (a definite highlight) and Kentuck Knob. Ellen has never disappointed me. She is a knowledgeable leader and a pleasure to be with.” — Betty Goldfield, Philaelphia

“Someone asked me the other day, ‘Who do you travel with?’ My answer was “I travel with MY tour group, Excursions from the Square’ ” –- Bob O’Neill,

“The best thing about traveling with Ellen is that she’s attentive to individual needs yet you never feel that she’s hovering over you. On recent trips to New Orleans and Canada, with people who had different things they wanted to do, she made everything work smoothly and all wishes were met. For a trip with Excursions my bag is always almost-packed.” — Liz Woy

“We are seasoned travelers (25 cruises, 85 countries) who usually travel independently. However, we have traveled on several occasions with Ellen Coleman’s “Excursions from the Square” including trips to Berlin and Paris. Traveling with her is a very special treat. She is very professional in making arrangements for her guests. Her selections of hotels, shows and local tours, are very good. Her local guides are exceptional. She is unflappable and resourceful in dealing with the unexpected. All of this at a good value for her trips and services” — Harris and Sande Hollin
